Stumpsandbeans is a blog suffering from an identity crisis. It can’t decide whether it wants to be a humor blog about the ridiculousness of everyday life, a mommy blog about the cute things that my children say and do, a brutally honest blog delivering career advice to the chronically unemployed (See The Real Reason They Didn’t Hire You), or a survivor blog about my adolescent and early-adulthood battle with depression.
So it is all of these things, juxtaposed in a completely disorganized mishmash of nonfiction stream-of-consciousness and personal essays. Rated PG for my lack of self-control when it comes to cursing like a mild-mannered sailor, and for my frequent overshares about how disgusting my children are, my writing style is probably best described, to use only the most pretentious of literary genre terminology, as smartass. I am in my mid-30s, have two preschool-aged children, work very full-time, and am living out my fantasy of someday semi-retiring to become a professional writer by authoring this blog.
